im looking into buying a Romanian WASR-10, are these good, reliable rifles like other ak models?? if not what is better for under $450, Russian?? Yugo??

Is a WASR-10 any good? I know it is an AK variant, but don't know much about it. It has the one piece butstock with the built in pistol grip with a big cutout in the middle. Is it legal to change this to a regular butstock and pistol grip? What other modifications can I make legally?

My WASR-10 is having problems shooting straight. I have adjusted the sights up and down, side to side and nothing works. It is shooting far down and to the right, abouy 12 inches off my aiming point! What causes this? How can I fix it?

What's the difference between a romanian wasr-10 and a wasr-10 hi-cap? And will a regular wasr-10 accept 30 rd mags?

On my continuing quest for an AK type weapon, I saw a couple of these at a gun show today. I noticed they were from Romania. Are these of the same quality and reputation as the SAR-1? Anyone with experience with one, I'd like to hear your thoughts.-Marcus

Good guns just rougher in the fit and finish dept than the more expensive guns

For 450 you can get a saiga and a few extra mags...

they are every bit as reliable as any other AK. they just arent as "pretty" as if an AK can be pretty.. they are a great place to start with AK's.

They are pretty good for the price. They were cheaper a few years ago. Around $300. Just have ot dremmel out the mag well a little bit to fit the 75 round drum.

Except a Saiga doesnt take AK mags and must be modified to take an AK stock.

450 is too much though, you can get a yugo underfolder for that
SARs are better too, so are the MAK-90s

i have one you can get them for like 300-350. Its just like any gun or surplus rifle check it over before you buy it and you will be fine. Spending a ton of money on an AK is stupid, I mean its an AK for go sakes.

At this time I don't think you can get a Yugo or Russian for under $450. I didn't see but one or two of each for sale on the auction side. They are beginning to dry up and it won't be long till were all sitting here talking about how cheap and plentiful they used to be.
Do you want a underfolder or a fixed stock? A wasr set up for high cap. mags or only the 10 rounders? The one Hoosier found is single stack only with no flash or bayonet lug.
