'drop in ' installation for Mosin Nagant

Hello all,
Just purchased a Nagant and a Advanced TEchnology Monte Carlo stock. Well the 'drop in' installation instructions are not exactly that. Since the barrel assembly, trigger/magazine are in place and the upper and lower screw is in place, the trigger hangs without any spring tension and does not engage the sear & firing pin.
So basically, I have a dangling trigger.
Any ideas out there since Advanced Tech is not avail today ? ?

    There is a part that is attached to the bottom of the receiver with one screw. It has two purposes, #1, Trigger Spring. #2, Bolt Stop.

    From your description, IT APPEARS that this part is non-functional for some reason?
