My question for the experts is. I have a Colt 1911A1 made in march 1945. Looking to find the correct Magazine for it. Should it be marked with just the C on the toe, C with C-L on the botton, C with C-S,Or no markings at all??? Last should it be blue or Parkerized. Seems to be a lot of different opinions, so looking for it to be correct. You guys have always given good advise, so thanks in advance.

Hello IMHO for the most part a correct blued WW II magazine would be all anyone would expect to have for a GI 1911A1 just don't display/ try to sell with a new commercial KIMBER etc If you think about it the magazine that was issued with a pistol used in the military was never kept with THAT pistol but the magazine was just used to carry ammo most guys had a bunch of them kept loaded.

Your Colt would have been initially issued with a contract magazine. So, any mag with C-S, C-L, or C-R on the bottom would be correct.

All contract mags were blue; they were sometimes parkerized at an arsenal when the gun was overhauled.

If your gun has been refinished, then none of the above should matter to you.
