the 88 commision rifles are pretty much on the bottom of the mauser ladder. hard to tell from pics, but looks to be refinished. but if not, if you get more than 400.00, your doing great. youll probably have to sell on intrenet to get that.
I agree about the quality of the pictures, it's very difficult to ascertain if it's been refinished.
This is not a Commission rifle though. It's a Cavalry Carbine made in the first year of production. Way rarer then a Commission rifle and worth a lot of money to a collector, even if refinished. My 2?.
