I was just wondering if anyone knows about how much this is worth. I inherited it from my father and do not know a whole lot about guns. I have heard from a few people that its a rarity and they do not make them anymore. I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out. Thanks......

More likely faux ivory - blued ones bring around $300-$350, stainless $375-$425.

If it is a 55-xxxxx to 58-xxxxx prefix serial number, then it is a Vaquero, (Original Vaquero), 1993-2005 based on the Blackhawk frame. XR3-RED grip frame. Discontinued in 2005, safe to shoot all "Ruger Only" loads.

If it is serial number prefix 510-xxxxx, then it is the "New Vaquero"
2005 to date. scaled down model, same size as the 1955 Ruger Blackhawk flattop, XR3 grip frame. NOT SAFE FOR RUGER ONLY LOADS.

Both models came in blue and stainless.

The only way to know for sure which catalogue # gun you have is to call Ruger 603-863-3300 (8AM-4:30PM Eastern) ask for records. Give them the serial number and they will give you the cat# and ship date over the phone.

Once you have this info we can find out exactly what you have and value.

    Nice heirloom.
