I beleive the box was also labeled OJP and 1961. Anyone know anything about this stuff? Safe? Accurate? Corrosive? Reloadable? All I have found is that it appears to be of Austrian/German manufacture.

Thanks.

What is on the headstamp of the ammunition?

Is this ammunition 7.62x51, 7.62x54, etc.?

Headstamp at 12 o'clock marked OJP (with two little dots above the "O" it's Austrian. If so, the answer is yes to all your questions, except it is non corrosive (IIRC). I have OJP 58 M2 ball (30-06). No problems with it. Joe

If the headstamp is OJP (with two accent dots over the "O") the cartridges were made at ?sterreichische Jagdpatronenfabrik, Kramsach, Tirol, Austria.

Since these cartridges were made in 1961, "S-Patronen stands for (Spitzgeschoss which means a pointed bullet or pointed bullet cartridges.

I do not know if they are boxer or berdan primed.

Thanks Givette for the positive ID.

    Regards,
