FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERR

This is a .22 long rifle smokeless, with an in and turn detachable barrel. It is a semi automatic, butt loading and the only markings are on the barrel reads "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE. HERSTAL-BELGIQUE. BROWNING'S patent depose" There is a serial number but no model number. I suspect that it was manufactured in the late 1940's - early 1950's. Can anyone assist in identifying the model?
