Just saw that Wolf is making non-corrosive ammo for the gun. I've always been interested in the pistol, but shied away from them because of the corrosive ammo. Anybody have any experience with the TT-33 or thier clones. Anything I need to look out for?

I have one chambered in 7.62 Tok and 9mm. Both are good guns, built much like a Colt. I never worried about corrosive ammo. I just cleaned it when I got home and never have had any rust or pitting in over a thousand rounds through the 7.62.

One additional question. Are they hard to field strip?

The original ( Russian ) Tokes, are big buck collectors items nowadays. Your best bet, if your just looking for a shooter is one of the recent imports from Eastern Europe. They are priced right and don't have a lot of collectors value, because a manual safety has been added to make them legal for importation.

No more difficult, then a Colt 1911. I had problems with my Russian years ago though, with the firing pin retainer pin. It was a spring pin with a split end. I had to make a special tool to compress the split ends, to get the firing pin out.

On the newer ones: Make sure unloaded. Drop mag. Use butt end of mag to slide back the split link at the middle base of slide on RHS. Push pin out. Pull slide and barrel off in one motion. Rotate barrel bushing 1/8 turn and take off bushing. Pull barrel out the front of the slide.
The block containing trigger works pulls up and out for a neat together piece to clean. put together in reverse. Making the recoil spring go back is a little tricky , but you'll get it. In short , field strips in about a minute, ditto back together. Nice gun, great cartridge, low recoil and accurate.

Good pistol, less than 7/8" slide width. Serious power.
Chinese chromed barrels are ok with corrosive ammo. Polish guns are considered best finished but don't have chrome bore. Chromed barrels are available and interchangeable between makers.
I wouldn't be taking the firing pin out except for the first cleaning and oiling because the split pin retainer on a Polish Tok broke and I had to get one out of Canada. Some owners replace that pin with a roll or spiral pin.
