Is a Savage 12 F/TR a good rifle? Is it accurate? Does it kick?

In what caliber? They are amongst the best values out of the box available in the states, bar none, but "does it kick" is sorta like asking "does a bird fly well?". What bird, compared to what and at what altitude?! Give me a little help so I can help you.

I have not shot one, but I would see no reason why it wouldn't be accurate. After all, thats what it is built for. The recoil should be very minimal because they weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 pounds(if I am not mistaken) and the .308 round doesn't have a lot of recoil to begin with. All and all I think that this is/would be an awesome target rifle!

    hbk,

The F/TR only comes, right now, in .308. They don't kick bad compared to other rounds doing the same thing. The heavier rifle is going to help reduce recoil.
Yes, they are very accurate. Well worth the money if that is your purpose. Remember it is set up as a tactical/long range competition rifle, not a carry in the woods hunting rifle.

Here is a link to their website and press releases regarding this and the F-class:

It even comes with a warning stamped in the barrel about closing the bolt easy due to the target trigger setting, cause it can fire if you close to bolt to hard. The F/TR is an AMAZING rifle! All the bells and whistles straight from the factory and Sub-MOA(my buddys never broke bigger than 2in) groups at 500yds with factory Match ammo. It is totally tailored to F-class and target shooting though. It is way to nice for a carry-in-the-woods hunting rifle! I think anyone who gets a chance to shoot one will really be impressed, especially for a Savage.
