There is a "BNP" commercial proof used for guns proved in Birmingham England after 1954. If your revolver was released for sale on the civilian market by the British Ministry of Defense after W W II? It would very likely have this proof.

Nope, its B.M.P.another fellow told me that N.M.P. stood for Northwest Mounted Police, but couldn't tell me about B.M.P.

Along with a lot of other markings, the letters"BMP"appear in several places on this 1942 38 revolver. Will someone tell me what the B.M.P stands for?

Is there a crown or other symbol above the initials?
