howdah, double barrel cap & ball pistol

I have a "Howdah" double barrel cap & ball pistol. Aprox. 16ga. with no prof or manufacture markings on it. Origional condition with some pitting and rust and mis-matched nipples.
I am interested in its value and if there is any market for it. It has been in my family for over 50 years.

    Pictures would help. At the top of the forum there is a detailed description of how to post them. My understanding is the the "howdah pistol" type was not made in very large quantities, more of a custom or limited run sort of thing. Original vintage firearms of that sort are often very collectable to well heeled collectors, but they too can be rare. Hopefully one of the more informed experts will be along and will be able to help you with more information.
