Just bought a Savage A.C. 114 7mm and looking for some ideas on bullets! Mostly using for Muleys and Coyotes. My savage 22-250 really likes the hornady's. Thanks

    thomas36,

Savage 114, I'm assuming 7 Rem Mag? or WSM?
Coyotes will take any varmint bullet that shoots accurately. Hornady, Sierra, Speer, Berger,

Muley's take a hunting bullet. Same names above just add Nosler to the list. And Barnes if you want to spend a bunch.

The 140 grain Ballistic tip, or Accubond will serve you well for both.....

    thomas36,

Normally we edit posts and don't double post on a subject as it takes up the ten answers you may get. In the future when you have questions we'll do that. For now, I'll make another post so that you can see it.

I'm with mrbruce on this, the Nosler accubond is a good bullet to use. 140 is about an optimum weight for 7mm for killing power and speed for flat trajectory for hunting purposes. You can however get good results from a 120 gr. as well. Nosler makes a BT tip that is explosive on deer. I've heard from some that it tears up meat pretty bad though. I haven't shot a deer where there was much meat on him with one. Anyhow, for powder I recommend a relatively slow powder such as H4831 or IMR4831, RE19 for 120's or RE22 for either. Starting weights to work up from are 64 gr. of H or IMR4831 for 120's and 62 gr. for 140's. Note that the Nosler BT and Accubond have all the same data. Re19 is 65 and 62 respectively. RE22 is 66 and 63. Nosler shows RE22 as the best velocity load when fully worked up. -Hope that helps a little more.

note: Those are pretty safe starting loads for any bullet of those weights.
