I have a nice old Riverside Arms 16 ga. SXS. The barrels measure 27 3/4" from end to end. Both tips were calipered the same at .645.
What choke would this be?

Thanks for any help.

Good morning dkcolwell: .645 falls into the range of a Full choke for a 16ga.

Hi dk: Well you have to remember when the gun was made!! (If memory serves correct your gun should be pre-WWII). Paper shells with fiber wads were in use. A shotgun was considered good back then if it patterned 70% with a Full choke at 40 yards. Pretty loose by todays standards!! Todays ammo with the plastic cupped wads, it should pattern 85-90 % without much problem!

One more thing if your gun is not Stamped "2 3/4" it may not be, since these shells didn't come out until very late 1926. your gun may have a short chamber 2 9/16. Have it checked if it''s not marked!!

    Regards Dave
