Will the barrels interchange on a regular 870 wingmaster 20 ga. with one that was built using the larger 12 ga frame? They seem to fit and function but was just wondering if anybody knew for sure before i shot it...Thanks

Modern day Post-1977 870 20ga Wingmasters and all 870 20ga Express shotguns use the barrel with the 7/8 inch diameter magazine ring. The older style 870 20ga Wingmaster built on the 12ga receiver uses the barrels with the full 1 inch diameter magazine ring. You can't mix and match the barrels. 1 inch rings will only fit the old style guns. 7/8 inch rings will only fit the new guns. If the barrel "seems to fit and function" as you stated, you must have the proper barrel/receiver combo. The old style barrels and the new style barrels are not interchangeable.
