I am reloading 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets in a Savage Stryker. The books that I have looked at call for OAL of 2.810. I colored a "DUMMY" bullet with a black magic marker and chambered it.Before backing off of the lands I measured an OAL of2.975. I backed off 10 thousands. They shoot 1/2 inch groups consistantly at 100 yards,no signs of too high of pressure. My question is could this be a bad thing to be doing or am I alright.I have been told by several reloaders that the books are not always right for all firearms. Thanks in advance for any and all replys
