1911 Ithaca Value

The slide says Ithaca Gun Company. The frame says Essex Arms Corp.
Serial Number - 507XX. This gun has been accurized with new trigger, sights and barrel. Can anyone give me a ball park figure on the value? [img][/img]gungarage007-1.jpg[gungarage004-1.jpg[gungarage002-2.jpg/IMG]/IMG]

    Hello as a pistol with an Essex frame " THIS IS AN AFTERMARKET FRAME" and as such it was put together with parts . This is where there is a BIG problem with worth . WHO put it together and what did he know about 1911's it might be great but it might be Bubba'ed I think $350.00 + or - would be all it could hope to bring.

    1911/1911A1 parts guns show up on the two big internet auctions regularly. Check out their actual selling prices to get your "ballpark".

    Essex is a good frame but it is an aftermarket frame as said above,this is not a collector but a parts gun someone put together as a shooter,Ithaca slides bring a fair price but I can see in the pics this one has been modified,the rear sight has been changed ect,,without knowing who put together the parts or even who made the small parts $300 to $350 is about right

    Terminology is important. The manufacturer of any gun is considered the manufacturer of the receiver. So, you are not looking at a "1911 Ithaca"; you are looking at a "1911A1 Essex", which has an Ithaca slide.

    +1 on the $350. Parts guns with unknown provenance do not bring much.
