Anybody out there in expert-land got a way to estimate the power of an old scope that has no markings ( 1930's vintage with 3/4" OD tube and 15' long ).
    Thanks for any help.

Ya i came across a WWII Mossberg scope that has a NO. 4 on it. I didn't buy it because i wasn't sure exactly what the history of it was or for that matter what country made it. The NO. 4 grabbed my attention because i am a beginning Enfield collector. I do not know if this is British or what. Any help in the identification and information on this scope, along with value in 90% condition would be appreciated

Revelation was Montgomery Ward, probably made for them by Weaver. I would look for Weaver caps.

I have to apologize for a faulty memory (I am sure it has nothing to do with age). Revelation was Western Auto not Wards. Still probably Weaver. I will check the old scope book tonight.

Hey He Dog,you are right about the Western Auto,I found out before I was given it that Revelation was Sold By Western Auto.I had a Savage 340 in 30-30 for 26 years and it was a 1958 model. It had a weaver mount,Leupold M8X4 scope and I loved the way it shot.It was stolen last spring(Probably for the scope) and the kid was caught but the gun was never recovered. This gun is much nicer and bore is perfect. It was given to me by and older guy who had fallen into the trap that 30-30s where a thing of the past!We have a gun show here in Richmond,Va this weekend and I thought I would look for the cover there. THANKS FOR REPLYING!!

Checked Stroebel's Old Scopes book and he lists nothing under Western Auto or Revelation. In that era there are some other possibilities, but I think Weaver the most likely. Good luck tracking down a cap, may your show be better than most lately!
