I've got an older Browning 22 auto rifle. There is no model number stamped. It is fed thru the stock. Made in Belguim stamped on barrel. Ejects out the bottom. No numbers anywhere. Looks like the barrel screws to the reciever. Any ideas?

Take the barrel off and look for serial numbers on the end of the receiver. If none are there, it may not have any. Does the rear sight adjust with a wheel? How long is the barrel? The barrel doesn't screw to the receiver, the collar that screws is to adjust the fit. To take the barrel off press in on the lever on the bottom where the barrel meets the receiver, turn the barrel a quarter turn and it should come out.

This link is to the Browning forum on Rimfire Central. Most likely they will be able to answer your questions.

From your description sounds like it's a early production rifle.

18" barrel, no numbers on the end of the receiver. It has the wheel adjustment on the rear sight.

I have one of the Miroku models made in Japan. Iam looking for a good Belgian model for my collection.

Production began in Japan in 1976. It is a fine little .22. It is called the take-down because you can unscrew the barrel for storage.

I will have to drag mine out to recall where the serial number is. There were 3 different grades of embelishment. The fancier grades II and III have been discontinued.

Sounds like you have an early pre-1956, pre-serial numbered model with the desirable wheel sight. Very nice and very collectible. Depending on condition it is worth between $250-$500. Even more if it is a higher grade version. Congratulations!

I've got one made in 1956 6XXX SN, underneath and on ejection slide.
