i have two winchester 1903 22 autos. one, which is a little newer, has a much thicker forearm, the other, made in 1905 I believe, has a thin forearm, like the winchester lever actions, just plain and straight down to the receiver. I looked up in madis book and he doesn't mention any difference. Was there a year the forearms were made bigger, or is this an add on? thanks, dave
