M1 Garand Scope mount

I just Bought a M1 garand from GB and i'm curious to know if there are any aftermarket scope mounts around that would center the scope with the reciever and not off-set it to the left. I know there is a problem with the top loading/ejecting reciever but i was wondering if theres somthing like an m14/m1A scope mount that deflects the ejected brass to the right that I could use with a S.L.E.D. for single round. I'm left eyed so i don't know how comfortable a traditional M1 scope mount would be

I saw a mount from Cheaper than dirt, not sure if it works well or not. I hit great with my open sites.

Please do not drill and tap the receiver for scope mount. You will destroy the value of your M1 if you do.[:(]

Fulton Armory has a scout style mount that replaces the upper hand guard, you'll have to use a long eye relief scope, but I think this would be your best bet if you want a center line mounted scope.

I have a offset Fulton Armory scope mount on my Garand and being a left eyed and left handed shooter, I find it almost perfect. With low rise rings you end up being tucked in real tight when looking through the scope.

It would seem to me that an off set scope for a left eye dominant person that shoots right handed would be the perfect set up. However, if one assumes the position of a left hand shooter, the scope mount catpealer notes would seem to be something to think about. However, Old Fool offers some sage advice for you to consider too. Remember that the M-1 Sniper rifles had the leather cheek pads which were intended to move the face to the left so a normal eye relief could be had for the right hand shooter.
    What's next?

In addition to "don't drill & tap" I would add don't waste your $$$ on a BSquare. The BSquare is supposed to work by anchoring the rear end in the sight mount and a metal clip up front attached to the inside of the receiver opening. The front attaching set up is flimsy and will also scratch your receiver. I'm not at all impressed with BSquare in general - their use of aluminum makes it really easy to strip screw holes when use of their product requires that everything be tight.
