Have a whole pile (700-800 rounds) of Venezuelan 7.62x51 (green box headstamp CAVIM) that won't cycle my M-1A. I suspect it was for FAL's (not sure) But I'm not sure if I should go out and buy me a bolt gun to shoot it up with. Been wanting a Sav 110 in .308 anyway.
Question is Buy the bolt gun, or have it pulled apart and reloaded to US milspecs?

Any ideas??
I wouldn't expect that stuff to be really accurate in a bolt rifle either. I think the Savage would be a good way to go. It would be a cheaper way to break in your new barrel. And, it would be a fun way to shoot it up if tight accuracy isn't necessarily your goal.
Sell it off ... surplus 308 has gone thru the roof lately, even the old indian and * stuff is selling for 110+ for 400 rounds...
The folks that slip in when nobody's watchin'! You surely ain't got no bona fides as a firearm freak, that's for sure.
Paul, you just go with your instinct there and buy yourself a bolt action.
Gotta love that adjustable gas system.... although on mine it feeds 80s vintage cavim fine with the gas at 4 1/5 (about half open/half closed)
Just don't wanna go boom on the second shot, doesn't blow the bolt back far enough to eject or strip the next round. I would sell it local if I knew someone with an FAL
Besides-Henry's right. I really want to buy a bolt gun in .308 What better excuse?
Should be easy enough to sell, though with the dry up of Milsurp 308.
On reloading the Cavin, yes you can. However, it is very thick and is very hard on dies.
I would not reload it myself and I reload about any/everything.
Just an opinion which others In know share as well.
