What do we think about the 7.62X39 Ruger Mini 30 for hunting deer size game? What rifle chamberd for 7.62X39 might be better? Thank You.

My buddy and his three sons all whitetail hunt with SKS's. I think the Mini-30 would be up to the task...

If yours is torqued right and as accurate as mine, there's nothing wrong with it at all. Especially at 200 yards or less.

I have Ruger #1 in 7.62x39 in stainless and walnut that I use for deer hunting in southern Iowa that works wonderfully. I've never had much accuracy >75 yards with my mini-30, of course it was pretty well used before I got ahold of it.
