Favorite home defense load (handgun)

What is everyones prefered home defense load for a handgun, taking into account overpenitration not just stopping power. My biggest worry is a round going through the target and or miss and into the next two bedrooms. I like a .40 S&W in Glasser Safety round

Highest one-shot-stopping power of all 40 rounds and nearly all 45 rounds.

Sounds to me like you've already found your load in the .40 Glaser. Having sold my .40, I now lean towards a large hunk of lead at modest velocity; 230 grain .45 or 240 .44 at 900 to 1000 fps.

What ever you use,make the first shot with bird shot to the face..You'd be surprised how fast the fight leaves ,even the baddest hombre,with their eyes full of bird shot..Keep a pair of muffs close at hand because their screams are piercing..I almost feel sorry for the next damned fool who enters my realm without an invitation..Have a nice day and good luck..modoc
