I am on here trying to find out what an old colt .45 revolver is worth? It has the old markings of the US Postal service on it. What I was told is that it was used on the Pony Express. what is the worth of such a gun?

I have a Weatherby Mark V Varmit Master serial#S6672, in Cal.22250, what is this firearm worth???

Also I put this gun in the shop for rapair (broken Stock) in July 2002 and have not been able to get it back as of yet. I was told that the gun had to be sent to Calif. and that it is now at Ray's in Dallas. Is this a normal time frame to have a factory stock put on a firearm. Help this is the one that my daughter wants to take her first deer with.

Price is controled by supply vrs. demand.. but remember this model by Remington, has major problems with the bolt assembly shearing off, if too hot a hand load or even un safe mil-surplus shot in them. I had a 788 that came loose(bolt that is ) on me with standred Lake city ammo , after just one shot. It's still sitting in my closet, useless. I would be inclined to buy a 700 if I were you. I still have a 2nd model 788 in yet a .308 cal. I love the accuretsy. Greg

    The way I understand it...
There are two things that will contribute to having a bolt problems:
    1. If you had a .223 and shoot the 5.56, you will probably develop a problem. Same goes for .308.
    2. As mentioned, if you do reloads and load them too hot, you will probably have problems.
So buy good brand name ammo and shoot it. If it locks up, take it to a gunsmith to get it unlocked. Do not do what most people do and jerk up on the bolt and break it off. If you do it will be costly to get the old bolt out and then buy a new bolt. Good luck.
I think it is worth $300.
