22 Blanks

I have a small round box of 22 blanks someone at work gave me.I just fired a cylinder full out of one of my Charter Arms pathfinder to test the new mainspring I just installed.I was wondering if they could be blackpowder blanks ?---I have another older box of Remington blanks that are blackpowder.The blanks I just fired have the brand name PRECISE that were made in Yugoslavia.They are crimped at the top and appear to have copper cases.They have a triangle with a V in the center on the rim end.

Unless someone can reply that with certainty that neither black powder nor mercuric priming compound are involved, I'd clean the piece thoroughly, assuming both.

It did not smell like blackpowder.I know how that smells owning 6 front stuffers myself.

I went ahead and cleaned it after I did some more testing.I went ahead and clipped two coils off the mainspring.No missfires and now I can cock it without using both hands.

from firing the m-16 with blanks i can tell you it makes the gun about 3 times as dirtier, so clean it well
