Which one would you choose?

Which Ak-47 would you choose the Romanian WASR-10 or the Yugoslavian M70B1? There only like a $100 difference in price and are the magazines compatible between the two. My brother and I are looking in to getting a Ak's and would like to know which one is better. Thanks

i have the Romo and works fine, im guessing with a milled peice you will probably pay double. Nice to have, Yes. But with an AK what are you going to with it besides say its milled

I have a rom. it is stamped, I think the yugo is milled, which in my opinion, is a much better rifle. I also have two yugo sk's. Very well made. If I could sell my rom., I would also go yugo, "hands down!!"

The milled AK is a coveted piece. Myself, I do not find it shoots any better than a stamped receiver...of course, the limitation may be me. It is a heavier piece, and that is something.

Either way, AK is a military machine that when pulled from the dirt would shoot a pie-plate group at 100 yards. When my boys were at home we had two. One was dedicated as the 'rapid fire / repeat fire / whatever gun'. With two boys, 3 nephews, associated friends, on several occasions they got the gun so hot you smelled woodsmoke from the forearm. That (Norinco) stamped gun is still shooting.

I agree, it probably shoots no better, but fron an engineering standpoint, a milled rifle represents a greater investment in time and money, which would make it more durable, as well as more collectible and possibly more likely to hold or increase in value. Finally, i gain a sense of satisfaction from owning a better made rifle! Most WASR-10's seem to lo-caps modified by cutting a larger hole in the receiver to allow hi-cap mags.

    Buy both. [8D]

I've shot with underfolders and don't care for them. If the choice was one of the other, I'd take the Romanian with full stock and chrome lined barrel.

Yes the Yugo is a much better AK if you can afford it. I have both types and I even feel the Yugo shoots better groups than the WASR-10. Plus the Yugo comes with two mags that hold the bolt open after firing the last round.
