I see they are reasonable but do not have any experience with them. Was told by a reputable dealer that they are a slight notch below a Rossi. Can anyone out there give me some feedback good or bad?

Id go Rossi.....you will get better customer service.
I would say more than a slight notch below Rossi revolvers. Rossi has become much better since being run by Taurus. I try to stay away from anything Armsocor after seeing their 1911s and 22lr rifles perform.

I can't speak for thier revolvers, but I do own 6 of thier 1911's and love them! I have never had an issue with any of them and do regularly use them as my carry guns.
And thier customer service is better than any company I have ever seen in any type of buisness. And you can readily get Ivan thier National rep on the phone there in Nevada without a single problem. I know this because I have talked to him many times and I also talk to him via the internet and email at least 3 times a week.
That being said, My only revolver is a Taurus hammerless .38 snub which I got for $300 NIB. I have only put 50 rounds through it but it does seem to be a desent little gun.
Like Taurus, they have a reputation for good factory warranty service. Personally, I prefer guns that don't need repair; so, I pay more for better quality. But, it's your choice.
A good rule of thumb is that you shouldn't buy any Armscor unless you are willing to pay for at least one trip to the gunsmith within the first year (shipping for factory repairs usually costs more than paying for repairs locally). I might consider buying one if the dealer selling it offers to ship it to the factory service facility for me if it requires repair; if he won't that should tell you something.

I only have one Armscor (my Rock Island 1911, like GRD), and on the forums at m1911.org, Ivan is very active. I've seen questions about recommended magazines, which wholesaler had a particular model, etc. all posted and answered right quick. In short, the Head Guy is involved in at least one location, and he helps existing customers and those who want to be customers...
Dear "* r done" if you have never had a problem with any of your Armscore firearms, how do you know that there customer service is so darn good? You guys discussin' the weather or what?
I have called for questions on cosmedic modifications and if they would void my warrentee, and asking about +p rounds through thier guns, and varrious questions I have had.
I have also talked to him about getting a shirt from them to wear when I start shooting IDPA matches.
Ivan is the one I talk to every time I call and he has allways been willing to answer my questions and such.
I do know of a couple people (who I know from a RIA forum that I also post on) who have had some minor problems (nothing that I have not personally seen with Kimber, Colt, or Springfield and is usually a problem that would go away with break-in) with thier RIA's and Ivan and crew has allways taken care of it in a very quick manor and allways given the person some extra's (normally extra Novac mags) for thier trouble.
The point I was makeing is the fact that you can call them and you will allways be taken care of by a person who really does care about makeing thier customer happy.
This company makes quality products and really does care about thier customers!
The Charles Daly 1911s give alot fo issues to their owners...once again Armscor
The RIA guns do work, but I have seen soft metal cause premature wear on them.
Im not a 1911 guy, but if I was Id spend more money and get a better gun.
I saw a High Standard made by Armscor go full auto within 100 roudns out fo the box.......Id call that a major issue

Both of those first manufactures only get some components from Armscor and they assemble there guns themselves. So I would have doubts as to if that is an Armsor problem.
As for soft metel in the RIA's, I personally have over 5000 rounds through 2 of mine and I have personally inspected 3 others that have well over 10000 through them and they show less wear than most of the high priced manufactures with the same amount of rounds through them. And if a person did happen to wear one out Armscor will replace it.
As an owner of Armscor/RIA products (which gives me more room to talk about them over a person who has never owned or shot them and goes by what others that have never owned them tell them) I can say that they make a quality product that they will stand behind for as long as you own the gun.
I think more than just a couple components of Charles Daly and High Standard 1911s are made by Armscor.
Here is what their website says " All steel frame 1911-A1 pistols are manufactured by Arms Corporation of the Philippines."
