Hi, Experts. I'm trying to get a date of manufacture for my Hi Standard H D Military, serial # 276,xxx. I checked the www.histandard.info web site and all it says is this model was made between 1945 and 1950. Is there another source to find out the exact year of manufacture? I'd just like to know. Does anybody offer a historical letter on Hi Standards similar to Colt, Smith & Wesson, etc.? Many thanks Jim

At www.histandard.info in the public data section, there is a serial number vs date shipped chart for the pistols with certain disclaimers since no simple chart can cover all cases. 276,xxx was probably shipped in 1948

Over a year ago, the new Houston High Standard company was planning to do factory letters for their guns and the old Connecticut High Standard company's guns as well but I don't know if they are offerint that service. Teh plan was the letters would be $30 each serial number.

I have a copy of the factory serial number records and provide that information on my forum in exchange for information about the guns for the research files I am compiling - see the survivor files on in the public data section of my website.

John Stimson the moderator/owner of that site, has copies of all the H-S shipping documents in existence, that he got off the batf.

Their is a forum on that site, where he researches and provides serial number shipping history for free. If he isn't able to give you the shipping date on your H D Military, nobody can.
