8.15 X 46R Schutzen reloading data

My friend is planning to reload for his Schutzen of this caliber using fireformed or resized 32-40 cases and cast lead bullets. Preferably
smokeless powder of the IMR series. Also, where to purchase a die set
for this caliber. Seems like Lyman makes a mould and bullet sizing die for this caliber.

Couple of loads are listed in "Cartridges of the World". Great care should be taken though, as it's noted that rifling dimensions weren't standardized on the old schutzen's. I would slug the barrel first thing, to make sure I was using the correct bullet diameter before doing any loading/shooting.

As for a bullet mould, he should slug his barrel first. A friend of mine had an undersize 8.15x46R that he could shoot with as cast .30 cal bullets. Or a .32-40 mould at .322" might work, or an 8mm at .323+"

Load data is scarce. Accurate Arms says you can use their loads for .32-40 Scheutzen NOT .32-40 Winchester deer loads.
