Can anyone reccomend a gunsmith or company that does parkerizing, preferably in TX? I have an old 870 that I'd like to get done. Thanks.

Who does parkerizing on the east coast/Virginia-North Carolina area? I am looking to get some Remington 1100's done, thanks in advance...

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has done home parkerizing. Have a few pistols I'd like to parkerize and was wondering if its as user friendly as stated in ads. God Bless America.

Can anyone tell me how to "spot" parkerize a very small area to match the original finish of a 1911A1? Is it possible?

if a pistol is parkrized and the roll marks are hard to see, if you remove the parkerizing and go back to blue will the marks still be there or will it make it even harder to see

I was at the Indi gun show and saw some parkerizing solution. It said I needed a stainless steel container to do it in. Any suggestions. Has to be able to fit a barrel in it so a pot wont work.

    Thanks

I am getting ready to re-do my mosin. I want to parkerize it and have the kit to do it.

    I have 2 questions.

    1. Do I need to remove all the blueing?

    2. Do I have to protect the inside of the barrel, and what would be the best way to protect the inside if I do?

    Thanks for the help.[:D]

Where on the east coast? There is a shop in Macon, GA and another in Sylvania, GA that have done a good job for me on two handguns.

I will check around the Carolina's for you.

But if you have a good outdoor area to work it is not that hard to do yourself.

I aquired a parkerizeing kit from one of our forum members (catpealer111) in one of his giveaways. I have been practicing on some small pieces and they seem to come out pretty good.

I am getting ready to refinish a Mosin M-44 in a complete parkerized finish.

I used my turkey fryer base as my heat source with an old metal tub I got just for doing this with.

You definatly need to do it outdoors as the fumes are pretty heavy.

I can't tell you what the kits cost but the one I got came with all the chemicals needed to do it. and you can save your solutions to reuse as long as you store them correctly as to not get dirt and such in them.

I am in the Tidewater Va. area, I had heard of a place in Greensboro area, there are plenty that do bluing around here but I guess the chemicals for parkerizing have a short shelf life or something, thanks. Ga would not be out of the question,I can also make my own stainless steel tub to do the process in if there is a recipe somewhere.

All you need is a gallon of phosphoric acid, a heat source, and a stainless steel pot. ANYONE can parkerize.

    * R Done,
I recently parked a T-53 Mosin that was in real real bad shape, and put a synthetic stock on it cause it was rotted. Ill post a pic of it later,
