this is the only picture I have of this savage model 110 in 25-06.
I also have no current blue book of values, so what is it worth?

going to rebarrel a savage 110 270 into a heavy barrel something for mainly bencrest shooting MIGHT take it coyote hunting [not a lot of walking] so weight is not a real consideration would like to have it chambered in something so brass is less expensive and available so what are some recommendations

I have one of these in .243. The SN #52901. Is there some way to find the dom? I have looked on the Savage site but they have nothing on the older savage rifles. I would also like to find a trigger for this rifle.
    Thanks

    .243
    25-06
    .223
    22-250

I LOVE my .243 with 55gr.ers for coyote. It screams. Haven't had one so much as wiggle after being hit with it. Brass is common.

Since your gun is already a .270, you may want to consider staying with a caliber that will use the same bolt face. The .223 & smaller will require a different bolt/bolt head. I have a 112 and 5 different caliber barrels. They are 220swift, .243, 257roberts, 7mm08, & 308. Less than an hour ago I changed from the 257 to the 243. I will be shooting it tomorrow. Another consideration is if you change from standard to bull barrels you will require another stock.

25-06, brass is cheap if you reload due to being able to use 30-06 cases. shoots fast and flat and you should be able to use the same bolt.

I'd go with the 25/06 since it fits the action and mag well. I have a Savage 110FP which is the factory heavy barrel in 25/06 and it is a real winner. I wouldn't consider it for high volume gopher shooting but for coyotes it's hard to beat. Makes a good deer gun too, if you don't have to carry it. That's how I came by mine. The 1st owner took it out one day and traded it in for a lighter rifle the next. His loss because it shoots under 1/2" 3 shot groups with factory 100 grain corelokts.

I too am a fan of the .25-06.

Ever think of a 25-08 or 25 Souper? Possibly go with the 250-3000 Ackley improved? 6mm Int. or 6mmbr. .243 win is another good one.
