I Have 1897 Winchester pump SN 193872C, looking for some facts on age and value

    Hello Charles,

    Your Model 1897 was maufactured circa 1903 (very early in the year). If you would like to know the exact date, contact the Cody Firearms Museum and purchase a factory letter (see the first Sticky at the top of this forum).

    The collector value is a function of several things;

    (1) the graded condition,
    (2) the specific variant,
    (3) the gauge,
    (4) factory originality (i.e. original factory finish, no added recoil pad, no added external choke device, etc.)
