S&W Model 67 - double action only

I just bought a S&W Model 67 stainless revolver. It is 38 special. It only works as a double action only, no single action. Therefore it will not cock the hammer. The guy I got it from said it was made for law enforcement that way from S&W. I can't find any info on it. Has someone modified this? Jim

Jim, It was either modified or ordered from the factory that way.
You can get another hammer and trigger and put it back to shoot single action.

When LAPD was still carrying revolvers the dept modified ON duty and OFF duty guns to fire double action only.

I have some friends who work for LAPD and have seen little 2" Smiths that were modified to shoot DA only.

Iam sure there are other agencies out there that have done the same thing.
