Appears? to be a French Army Rifle. Your going to have to post quality photos, for us to be able to help you value it though.

Since it says Mle. 1886 I am going to guess it is an early Lebel rifle, but as stated earlier without more info or a pic I cant be for certain.

Somewhere before "d'Armes" it should say "Manufacture".
Sounds Like a Lebel to me too but without more details...

These are pics of a rifle that looks exactly the same as mine except mine has better wood and is missing the foward sling mount

The pictures you have posted seem to be of a Model 1886 French Army Rifle, known as the Lebel. As you don't have pictures of yours and yours is missing at least one part, it's hard to value.

I would go on the 2 large net firearms auctions and one brokerage to see if you can find some rifles similar to & and in the same condition as yours. Note the actual selling price(s), not the asking price(s), which in many insentiences are just fantasies.

It appears that you have a Lebel.
The side of the reciever should say manufacture d'armed ,St-etienne, Chatellerault or Tulle, pick one. them Mle 1886 M 93, indicating that it is a model 1886 modified in 1893, the side of the barrel near the reciever has a date that indicates when the barrel was made.
finding a barrel band for one of those rifles is no small task.
Price is a function of the condition of the rifle, how complete and functional it is, wether or not there is a N stamped on top of the reciever indicating a rechambering, condition of the barrel etc.
Value? the last one i bought a week ago I paid less than $200, it had a couple of issues notably a missing band.
    Regards
