I own a Colt AR - 15.
Possible to buy an upper in 6.8mm without a problem?

sure, you might have to use front conversion pins to acept milspec size upper($5) no biggie

Not to hi-jack but is one lower capable of taking different caliber uppers. Any magazine problems? If so having a 5.56 lower allows you to interchange with what uppers.

A 9MM upper requires a chamge of hammer as well as a mag well block to accept "short" mags. I imagine other pistol calibers do also. The 6.8 SPC requires a new bolt and mag. Other calibers may require new bolts or mags or followers. A standard AR lower will not accept .308. If you're interested in a particular caliber upper, check with the manufacturer. One sign they may be switchable is a product being offered as an upper rather than a complete gun only. Hope this helps.
