Winchester date of mfg.

Hi again; I just bought a Winchester 94 the man says is pre war. The serial # is 1,221,5XX. I have yet to see it. I had my son buy it for me as he lives 90 miles closer to the seller.I would like to know the date made. I think it is 1940. Its a 32 special. Thanks in advance as always, Mike
