I want to purchase a Winchester M1 Carbine made in 1943. I have been unsuccessful in finding this info on the web. Can anyone share with me the dates or refer me to a website?

Winchester was assigned different blocks of serial numbers. What is the one you are looking at? My book does'nt give a year for them, just the block range. They made 809,451 of them.

I am going to make a purchase of the year 1943 Winchester. Just want to make sure that I purchase the year 1943 instead of another year.

According to "The Carbine Owner's guide" you should look for a range from 1016408 to 1323701.

Thats a tuff one, There were several different manufacturers of carbines back then and thier serials numbers were different from one manufacturer to another.

Any of serials in the numbers that Maxx424 posted should be in the 1943 era.
