US Rock Island Arsonel 30.06

Does anyone have any information on this 30.06? The only markings on the entire gun are "US Rock Island Arsonel, Model 1903, 341949". Gun is in very good condition, including what looks like the origional strap. Any information on manufacturer and approximate value would be appreciated. Thanks

YOU HAVE A 'HI NUMBER' R.I. 1903, IF THE BARREL WASN'T CUT OR REPLACED IT SHOULD HAVE A MONTH AND YEAR AND ORD. BOMB MARKING AT THE FRONT TOP OF THE BARREL. FINE RIFLE FOR SHOOTING/COLLECTING (IF IT HASN'T BEEN ALTERED).

If those are the only markings, then it has been heavily modified. Value is probably in the $150-200 range, but photos might show that it's worth more.

I found additional marking in the location that you told me. The markings are:

First Line: HS
Second Line: Torch or Flame symbol
Third line: 2 4 (possibly another 4)

Your rifle was made during WWI. The barrel was made by Hi Standard in February 1944. Most likely the barrel, stock, & other parts were replaced when it was arsenal rebuilt during WWII. It would probably sell in the $300-600 range.
