Anyone have one?
Remember me talking about the upcoming moose hunt? A good friend of mine is loaning me his Weatherby Mark V in 340Wby Mag for the hunt. I was afraid to by a big bore rifle(338 Win Mag was my choice) because it would RARELY be used and I really like to shoot.
So, this is what I'm saving up for....
Tikka T3 Tactical in 308, Burris 6-24x Xtreme Tactical Scope.
Maybe a birthday gift to myself in March. Saving my pennies until then.
What do you all think?

Looks good to me,love the 308. I hunt with it for Mule deer,White tails,Antelope and Caribou. It's great for paper and I do not reload, just vari bullet weights for the various game. Use my only other rifle for Elk. Looks a little heavy for walking but your a young guy. Did you sell the 243? Good luck with the Tikka
I'm going to keep the 243 for now.
This will be mainly a paper gun, something to reload for, and another long range coyote rife.
The 243 does a great job, a hair (no pun intended) over 400yds on the last coyote. I'd like to have a heavy barreled, long range gun. They guarantee 1MOA out to 800yds I think.
If they do not have a good Pro_deal at your shop you can look into FN, they have a great Pro-deal and some great rifles too:

I have only heard good things about them. I have a customer who bought one and he says that his .308 has less felt recoil than his .243 due to the muzzle break. He also said that it is a one hole rifle at 100 yards with factory loads. Dosen't Tikka have a really good Pro-Deal?
Not sure yet. I haven't checked. I know CZ does, that will be my second choice. A 550 Varmint Laminate in 308.
I think when this issue came up before I was expounding on the virtues of the stainless laminate that I shot for a guy at deer rifle sight in. I'm hearing a lot more positive results from them all the time.
I will go +1 on what Mk19 says with the muzzle break. A good will take most of the bite out of the recoil. My AR-30 is amazing in that I can watch the bullet hit, the recoil is so low. My 7WSM is almost the same way. Get the brake and enjoy!

The Muzzle break is something that will definitely be on it. I want the exact rifle pictured. Nothing like watching that Coyote get smacked.[:D]
