I am unable to find anything on the web about this sling. I know that there are lots of slings both authentic and fakes. I was wanting to know if anyone has one like this or has seen one and knows what I might have. I was able to find two markings both shown in the photos below. Looking forward to hearing back. Thanks, Tom

My son is a WWII reenacter doing a German impression. This sling looks just like his K98k sling. His is a re-pro. Yours looks original as the leather is quite deteriorated after 60+ years. If it is original, due to its age, you would probably not want to use it as it will not hold up well. It may have some value to a collector tho if it's authentic. Take it to a reenactment and have some of the guys examine it for you. They will probably tell you more than you care to listen to.
    Constants aren?t and variables won?t.

If it was German it would have different markings. I have a repro sling as well, and if it was German it should have acceptance markings(ie German eagle/Nazi Eagle) or a manufacturers code.

The Yugo 48 slings are of the same design but will have less markings. All my original WW2 era German leather has the Naxi eagle on it, and if the repro I have does as well it only makes sense.

Don't want to hijack your thread, but I have been trying to find a sling for my 1891 Argentine mauser for over a year. Any suggestions?

I put a wanted post here months ago with no response.
