Firearm Value--Hi Power question

I have to admit that I know little about Browning Hi-Power pistols or the clones. I don't know what a "Belgian Browning" is compared to any other Hi-Power. However, I owned a FEG PJK9HP once and I sold it because the hammer bit the webbing between my thumb and index finger regularly and Browning parts are not interchangably with FEGs. It is probably the most accurate 9mm pistol I've ever owned and is probably one of the most natural shooting pistols I've ever owned.

I started missing that pistol so I decided to start hunting around on the Gunbroker auctions. I found a pistol but I really don't know if it's worth the "Buy It Now" price so I just placed a bid for the amount that I had paid for my FEG. Heck, I can't go wrong even if I get lucky as heck and win this auction.

How much should this gun actually be worth. Does it have collector value? What's the deal with the triple-stacked serial numbers? Does anyone know the background of this gun and what might cause the seller to list such a high Buy It Now price? What do the Experts think about the actual value of the gun?

I am not an expert on such things, but it is clearly marked and papered as an Argentine copy, complete with black stove enamel finish. Stacked serial numbers might be of value to a Browning specialist but I doubt they mean much on an Argie copy.
The only way he would get $770 out of me with that gun would be to load it and rob me with it.

That is a FN Browning clone. They are a fair firearm. BUT not worth what he is asking. I bought the detective model that had been worked over for $325 with 2 mags&pouch & Milt Sparks Summer Special, a year ago. I would say new in box about $350.

Well, I bid $250.00 so we'll see how badly the other folks want it. I was incredibly happy with the performance of my FEG Hi-Power clone and I paid $250 for that when it was new. We'll see how this one works out if I don't get outbid.

The Chas Daly version of the hi power is currently selling under $300 from at least one wholesaler. This model has 3 dot sights dovetailed in the slide and rubber grips. I have an Argentine (FM) that works quite well. Adding the dovetailed sights cost me $100 which makes the Chas Daly really cheap.
