Experience with clamp on universal laser sights?

I've seen a few clamp on universal laser sights offered on the auction side by NCStar, Laserlyte, etc. They clamp on to the front of a handgun's trigger guard and are as such universal.
It would be kind of cool to have for my Smith and Wesson 10 or my 1911. Just wondering if anyone cared to comment on stability, accuracy, marring finishes (or not) etc. with this kind of setup.

Update: I ordered one for $15. If it doesnt' work I can use it to play with the cat (off the gun of course).
Don't pass up a great alibi!
I have the so-called bright LaserLyte universal on the trigger guard of a 640 that I couldn't use CTCs on, IIRC it was around $80. I got the push-button on type as opposed to the remote switch and cord, because I don't like snaggleables hanging off my firearms and because I've read that the remote pressure switch can be a pain to activate.
Works fine for a night stand gun that won't get handled roughly, it's bright enough for inside work and it's held zero for a coupla hundred rounds so far.
