A friend has a Rem. 700 Muzzleloader, and wants a conversion kit for 209 primers. I found only one supplier: http://armurierlavaltrie.com/remkit.html
Anyone know about another source?

You might try Remington. A few years ago I bought one at a Sportsman's Warehouse. That particular store has closed but perhaps some of their other stores still have them.

I found this Remington 700 ML 209 conversion kit and replacement nipple at http://www.muzzleloadingbullets.com/remington_700ML_209_conversion_kit.html It also talks about being able to use the Variflame primer adapter with it. Hope this helps.

The easiest way to convert a 700 ML to 209 is to transform it into a Thompson center Encore, Omega or Triumph. They are closed breech, and no muss, no fuss.

Brownells has them, Cabelas has them, and you can orobably even find them here. Remington may have them also, depending on their stock. tsr1965, I have 3 700ML's and I wouldn't trade them for a boatload of Encore's, Omega's or Triumph's. They may be a tad harder to clean, but so what? I can get 1 1/2" groups out of all mine with 100 grains of Triple 7 and Barnes bullets all day. Besides, if I was to try and get rid of one of them, I might get $150 if I'm lucky. Between my wife's, my daughters' and my 700Ml, we've killed a boatload of deer.
