I just bought one of these from my neighbor's collection. It has a 583.880 number stamped on it. What is the significance of this? Does anyone know where I might find out more info. about this gun?
Many thanks!
Mike

What you have is a revolver that High-Standard made for Sears, probably in the 60's. The same revolver was sold by High-Standard as the "Sentinel".

The number is probably a part number or identification number used by Sears.

It's a inexpensive revolver ( less then $100, when new ) made with a alloy frame. Unless in "Mint" original unfired condition, it wouldn't be worth much more then that today.

Here's one that was just recently on the auction.
