Need Info on Kodiak Rifle

Came into possesion of a Bolt action 30.06 Brand name Kodiak. Made in New Haven Conn. Would guess made in 60s. Cant find much on these.
Anyone have any info on quality? How many? etc.

    What sort of action is it built on, there were all kinds of limited production rifles built on FN Mauser 98 actions back then that had all sorts of brand names, it could be one of those. Pictures would help.

    There is a conflict in the various references vis a vis the actions that Kodiak used to fabricate their rifles. One says that they used refurbished military mausers, another commercial Mauser's and Sako's. Whatever they used their not commonly found under the Kodiak name. Most were sold as Colt "57"'s or "Coltsman", circa late 50's mid 60's.

    The Rifle you have was probably made by the Jefferson-Kodiak Rifle Co. around 62-65. Don't have info on numbers. This company was formed by Winchester Employees and only lasted a few years. Original quality fairly good. I may be interested in purchasing if you want to sell.
