Are armor piercing bullets illegal to possess w/out an FFL? I heard you can get 10 years for each cartridge. Is that true? If so, got to tell buddy to get rid of 'em. Thanks for any info on this.

    Hi,

Armor piercing bullets are legal to possess without an FFL. It is supposed to be illegal to import AP rounds from another country, but the federal law is very confusing about this point.

This very website and others have AP ammo for sale.

Tell your friend not to get rid of his APs yet.

    Hope this helps.
