I just ordered a Taurus 24/7 Pro .40 cal. the dealer talk pretty highly of them; for the reason im want one. I have lots of rifles of differ. syles; but this will be my first pistol. And i have two young kids at home and this gun is just for playing and protection. But now that ive ordered it, ive heard of some jamming and mag problems. So is there anyone that knows more about the gun and can give me some advise before i actually pay for it?

I also hope that when you say "playing" it means target shooting.
If you plan on having your kids shoot this cold turkey after they've never fired a pistol before, I suggest having them shoot a small caliber pistol before jumping into the 40. Same goes for you as well if you've never handled/shot a large caliber pistol before.
A friend of mine has the 24/7 in the same caliber that you ordered. He loves it, carries it, and has had no reliability problems. It's chewed through any box of ammo he's fed it. I have a PT111(9mm), it's my warm weather carry gun. I've had neary a problem from it as well. Eats any ammo I give it. You'll like the 24/7, Taurus has a fantastic lifetime warranty, which tells you of their own confidence in their products. Not a warranty for as long as you own it, but for the life of the gun itself.
So if you read a bad review you plan on backing out of the deal?

OK, i guess i wasent detailed enough. First of all when i mention my kids; it because of the (manual safety) Not for them to shoot. They are 5M and 5Y. Much too young. and im not going to back out right away, i would just like a little info before making my final. Ive also shot a couple of times before this (.22,.44,and a .45) Just havent shot enough or experinced anough. This is the reason i ask you guys your take on it. But thank you very much for the info and your help! Keep them coming
