Re-doing a few stocks on some weapons and was wondering which is the best laminate, polyurethane to use?

I have had good luck with Helmsman Spar Urathane.
It comes in a gloss and a matte clear and is pretty tough.
Be careful on any colored laminates, it will turn a yellow cast if exposed to the sun for long periods of time.
No problems on the standard laminates, just the colored ones........

Sparthane in a aerosol can, made by minwax. Can get at lowes. By applying with aerosol it wont fill in the checkering like brush on stuff. I apply 5-6 coats, in between the second and third coat i smooth the coat down with 800 grit sandpaper to smooth it out, then after everycoat till i'm happy. Plus the sparthane by minwax is uv and more waterproof. I even used it on the wood in my boat, applying the same way.

Thanks to both or you. I have an old bolt action shotgun I am messing around with and will give them a try.
