WASR-10 firing pin jamming problem

I've been having problems with my bolt in my WASR-10 constantly getting little bits of cooper or lead inside (every couple of shots) it and jamming up the firing pin. This makes it totally unreliable and has shattered my belief in the reliability of AKs. Does anyone know how to remedy this problem?

If your WASR-10 is new- you new to clean the bolt thoroughly. Especially where the firing pin hole is. Some of these things do have cosmoline in them. Depending on the ammo you use like Wolf, Bear, or Tiger- they can be quite messy. Not as clean as some of the domestic stuff, but a hell of a lot cheaper. Sometimes when you clean the bolt you need to use a small flat top screw driver to scape some of the build up around the bolt face/firing pin area- especially in the groove around the bolt face.

+1 for jhimco. You need to probably clean the weapon real good. The gas tuve everything. Then pick out the bolt if it has fouling, and if its new you probably didnt get all the cosmolean out, soak the bolt and moving parts in mineral spirits or laquer thinner.
