I posted in the other forum, but guys seems to always be asking what to do with an sks, and I thought these pics might motivate and inspire other. Well this is mine after I got done with it, enjoy.

Nice,but the milsurp purest over at Gunboards won't like it.
Anyone got any opinions on the T-6 SKS stocks?

What did you do to refinish the stock?
I've got one that came out of the dishwasher yesterday and I'm not sure if I want a stain or a stain and shine.

I bought the birchwood casey kit, it had like stain and a rub on finish. I put two coates of stain, then continually put on the finish with a foam brush, then steel wooled it inbetween, unitll I got the finish I liked.

Yeah the Milsurp may not like it but I can go buy another one right now for cheap. I could probably sell it for more than a straight up never been touched one. The main thing is I like it and it looks sweet.

About that scope:
What kind of scope is it and what was the ballpark cost?
Do you have any problems with ejected shells hitting the scope?
Did you put a recoil buffer in it?

The scope I think is a 4x32. Its nothing to high quality but it works great. I mean this rifle is only going to be a 150-200yd gun anyways. But if you go to sportsmansguide.com or cheaperthandirt.com they have them. They usually sell them in kits for like 60 bucks. They give you the receiver cover with a mount built in, you just slip the cover on and mount your scope, I think they also thre in some stripper clips and a manual. My cover did take some filing but it tooke me about 2mins and I had it in. heres a link below for it.

Nice job on the refinishing, but the mount leaves a lot to be desired. I found that it moved too much- and considering the recoil spring and rod are slamming around into it, no surprise. I'd either go for a scout mount on the barrel or drill and tap the reciever. Otherwise, probably not even as good as with iron sights.
